Some consumers who are finding it difficult to pay off debt may find the current economic climate frustrating.
From unemployment to credit card debt, there may be many reasons why people are feeling a bit glum. And though there may be a variety of ways they may take out their unhappiness, a recent survey from HCD Research shows that some people are taking a Scrooge-like view on holiday decorations.
According to the poll, of the people who said their attitudes had changed about decorations, 47 percent said there should be less. That's up from the 43 percent who said the same last year.
Isolating those who said there was a need for less holiday decorating, the poll showed that 42 percent felt that way because of the state of unemployment in the country, a difficult economy and other national concerns.
And though some consumers may be feeling a bit less cheery because of a difficult economy, they should keep in mind that there are options when it comes to trying to improve their own situations. Some people may consider seeking consumer credit counseling, which can help them establish a plan to get through tough economic times.
