Given the popularity of asking about solving financial problems, some may consider trying debt consolidation

12/01/2009

Recently, an online question-related website released the top queries asked during 2009, some of which involved people trying to figure out how to get out of debt.

According to Ask.com, the second-highest question asked overall during 2009 was "How do I get out of debt fast?" The first question on the overall list involved people wondering how they could lose weight, while the third question asked involved pregnancy.

"The top questions of 2009 reveal a portrait of Americans determined to improve their financial and personal health, strengthen their relationship and parenting skills, and learn from the modern-day heroes who emerged this year," Doug Leeds, president of Ask.com U.S., said.

Ask.com also produced a list of the top questions involving finances. Among them included inquiries about getting a good credit score and how to file for bankruptcy.

With debt being high on the mind of a lot of Americans, people should keep in mind there are other options aside from declaring bankruptcy or defaulting on credit card debt. Consumers may consider getting a debt consolidation loan, which could help them avoid some of the pitfalls that come with having too much debt.
