A California lawyer has had about enough of the treatment he's getting from his credit card company and he's going to do something about it.
San Diego's Ben Pavone told CBS News that he is not going to pay his credit card debt because of the anger he feels about his interest rate being increased. He said he won't square up until Bank of American lowers it from 27.99 percent.
Pavone said he hasn't had a late payment in 13 years, and still the card issuer increased his rates and lowered his limits while not giving him a reason or notice ahead of time.
"I think that's what a lot of people are frustrated about," Pavone told the news organization.
Given his background in the courtroom, it's no wonder that Pavone said he is ready to take the matter to court if the bank does something to hurt his credit standing.
Though many people may be dealing with credit card debt, not everyone has the luxury of a law degree. For those who are looking for ways to pay off what they owe, one option may be debt consolidation, which can help lower interest rates on a consumer's debt.
