Many people may feel envy when it comes to the people in their lives who seem better off, especially if they've achieved success by apparently ill-gotten ways.
That may be especially true for those people who are facing debt problems, as was the case for one letter writer who appeared in a recent Dear Abby column. When it comes to feeling upset by those who may have married for money or seem to come by finances in a morally-dodgy way, people should concentrate on their own situations.
"Start by shedding those people from your life whom you find morally reprehensible and look for some whose values more closely resemble your own," Jeanne Phillips, who writes the column, said.
If people find that they still can't seem to avoid bill collectors, one suggestion made in the column is seeking the help of a credit counseling service.
A credit counseling agency can provide consumers with a number of options, including debt consolidation. Through debt consolidation, consumers may be able to find a way to lower their interest rates and pay off their bills while keeping creditors at bay.
